Cased the idea 😊

Do you know about Pinterest? Ha ha ha, I would pretty much assume that y’all do! You know the good thing about these sites is that you see an idea and you can “case” it. Copy and share everything. Usually when I find something like that I will also edit it make it my own, change it around. So I saw a way to use 6 x 6 pieces of DSP with no waste. I really thought it was rather cute and wanted to make some up to show my ladies. I made one with just one piece of DSP showcasing both sides of it.  Then I took three pieces of 6 x 6 cut them all the same and made these three cards. I haven’t put anything on the flap yet because I thought they looked like really great colorful cards for children and I don’t know if I’ll send them to a boy or a girl.  If you have a lot of extra designer series paper this is a good one, and it makes a mini slimline card which is Unique and cute.

I noticed on my sticky note I didn’t tell everybody where to use the last piece of DSP, I’m assuming you can figure it out but in case you’re wondering the last piece goes under the flap on the front. It doesn’t fit with an even border on all 4 sides so I centered it on the left side.  The flap is stuck down with dimensionals and covers the uneven border. (if that bothers you.)

Today is the birthday day! My mother-in-law is 100 years old. Have any of you known anyone who has lived that long? We’re having a mini celebration, some of her nieces and nephews wanted to come. I guess mini is not necessarily the right word. The immediate family, her children grandchildren and great grandchildren 50 to 60 will be there. Then with her nieces and nephews coming we may have around a total of 80 or more people, Guess that’s not quite so mini😁.

Stencil time

I needed a card to send to a friend whose husband is a farmer. I wanted to send an encouragement card since I somewhat know what it feels like during harvest time to be the wife of a farmer. Her husband does many many acres, my husband works a full-time job and then does the farming on the side and in the evenings.  It’s many long days and late nights. I pulled out my Altenew Bitterroot Flower layering stencil.

The colors are from Stampin Up, mostly old colors that I pulled together to make this lovely peachy-orangish colored card with flowers and for the leaves I used the soft succulent an evening evergreen that retired last year. But I can’t quit using them because I love them so much.

I sort of cased a card that was on Pinterest. That card used a stamp stencil from Pinkfresh and had some of their inks in the peachy colors. I just thought it was beautiful and wanted to try my hand at it. I’ve never made a card with strips of card stock like this  before but I think it turned out rather lovely. Thank you for stopping by and looking if you want to leave a comment I sure would love to hear what you think.

Sunflower Masks

Back on August 21 I showed you for cards that I had made with a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper that I had stamped on, cut it up and made four cards with. That’s what I did with this sunflower masks set from Stampin Up. I randomly stenciled them and then used that piece to make these 4 card.  I stenciled then fussy cut some of the sunflowers to put on top.  It really isn’t hard, there is a small grove at the top of each stencil to make lining it up easy, they are numbered but it really isn’t necessary to do them in order just makes the placement easy.

Here are 2 more, these I stenciled onto a quarter piece of card stock, cut it down then embossed and turned into a card. I like the placement of the leaves on these ones, used the mask but put it where I wanted to.

Stampscapes fun!

I pulled out my stampscapes stamps this past week 😊.  I enjoyed using them and need to pull them out more! This style of stamping is unique with adding skies and foregrounds.  It isn’t hard just takes a bit of preplanning.

Christmas -Ready

I have finished my Christmas cards last week!!!!!😁 Woo Hoo I’m not sure I’ve ever finished this early with my homemade cards, I made a variety. I was on a roll and just kept making, multiples of each card. So if your a family member or friend reading this post don’t be surprised if you see one of these in your mail.

Some of these were “case”d but I made the backgrounds with watercolor paper and Stampin Up ink colors.  (it is not DSP.)

Well… what will I do in Nov and Dec now?πŸ˜†  I know what I won’t be doing, rushing to get cards made so I can send.

New fun fold card. But it has a pop out piece on it that you can adhere another panel too. Here’s a picture of the card I made

Hello everyone who is out there and looking at this  post thank you for stopping by. I decided to make a new fun fold  card today and I do not know what the name of it is, But it has a pop out piece on it that you can adhere another panel too. Here’s a picture of the card I made

It is an easy card to make. The basic card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4, Fold the card with a mountain and a valley fold. The 2 1/8 Score line is folded back to make it look like a mountain. The valley fold is in the center of the card ,  4 1/4 score line.   You will need to add another piece to make the middle panel pop out base. This is a small piece that is  cut three by about 2 1/4 and it is scored at 3/4, 1 1/2, 2 1/4. Crease these score lines to make them nice and crisp. This piece gets adhered to the score line in the middle of the card, fold the two ends in and adhere them on either side of the fold making sure that the card will fold flat. I like using “green glue“ ( mono liquid glue) for this step. It is a bit more forgiving if the piece needs to be moved a little bit when you are closing the card so that it closes nice and flat. This is where you will add the middle layer.

Now that’s really the two basic pieces that you might need to know the measurements for. The reason I’m saying that is because that middle panel could be any size you want it to be added to the “box” and then a focal point would be added if you desire onto the front folded back piece any shape or size you want it.  I added a white panel on the middle piece for my sentiment. If you want to decorate it just add a white panel to the back of the card for your sentiment and signing. That’s about it for this card if you have any questions you could contact me by leaving it in the comments below.

Have a good day and happy Stamping…. Once again….. Thanks for stopping by😁.

CASED card

Melodie from Paper Celebrations — that’s who I CASE’d (copy and share everything) this card from!  I fell in love with the colors and the stamping tone on tone behind the stamped and raised flowers. It adds such a nice look and is so easy to do… you’re already using that stamp set why not take your card to that next level, gives it depth and just looks great!! She is a blogger I follow and on the Stampin Up Artisian team.

As I was working on making a few of these I received word that my sister-in-law’s mother had passed away-bingo one lovely card done and in the mail that day!

Textured Floral bundle

I found some stenciled backgrounds and some die cut flowers from the texture floral stamp set and bundle. I must’ve meant to put these together into a card at one time and forgot. You probably don’t ever do that do you?😊 So I decided to put them together today and then found a couple other cards that I had made with this stamp set. Here they are hope you enjoy them.

I saw this one below on Pinterest, loved the colors so I CASE’d it😁

Altenew -Statement Flowers

This  Stamp from Altenew is a big one. I loved these flowers and decided to get it a while back. I’ve used it for some other cards but I decided I wanted to try something different this time. I stamped the floral image multiple times on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock. Then I water colored the flowers and leaves Cut it in quarters and now I’m assembling the pieces in two cards I have two of them done working on the other two. I left enough space so that I could add a sentiment when I decide who I’m going to send these cards to.

I found a Stamping in the center and then in certain places around the edge is a good way to do this. There are many other people that show this style also. It makes for a nice set of cards if you want to give a gift. The cards are all the same color but they all look different. Makes assembling the cards quicker because you can use all the same colors on them if you desire.

Here’s the 3 that are done 😊 I’m still trying to decide if the last one needs anything else, any suggestions?

Watercolor backgrounds

I decided I wanted to try some watercolor backgrounds with this lighthouse Stamp. It is a Divinity Design image, they used to be known as Our Daily Bread stamp company.  I googled lighthouses/sunsets and took some pictures off of the web as inspiration. Thanks for stopping in…which one is your favorite?

Textured Floral

I see so many cards that people make with blues and I always love them but for some reason I never think to get the blues out when I’m making a floral card. But I did it this time! And I love it!
This is the textured floral stamp bundle from Stampin Up it is so very pretty! I used designer series paper it’s called countryside Inn. This is another fun fold card that I saw on a YouTube channel that I decided to give a try. It’s really quite pretty it has a belly band to hold it closed. The left side folds in then the smaller right side folds over the top of it. It’s a little bit thicker because of all I added on the pages and the front. I haven’t checked to see if it’ll go through the mail yet.

Countryside Corners

Well I haven’t added a card in a long time… decided to play with the Countryside Corners stamp and dies New to the 2023-2024 Stampin Up Catalog.  The flowers and sentiments are also from S.Up—-Sending Smiles bundle.

I saw the card like this on Pinterest I’m sorry I don’t remember who put it on and decided to give it a try it really wasn’t that hard partial diet cutting and scissors to cut out the base of the card then added all the elements on top of layers. It easily fits in an envelope.

thanks for stopping bye.

TSOT 608. Fishing

Stamping and handling cards has been a passion of mine.       I have been doing another form of card making with watercoloring lately. I have really enjoyed the Art Impressions Stamps that you watercolor with. I designed and made this water colored it and I’m sending it to a friend in Florida who loves cats and fishing.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day. It’s always better if you can get a little bit of time in stamping 😁.

TSOT 607 flower power

Here’s a quickie card for you following the sketch and the theme. Oh I know I flipped the card but that was to fit my flowers it’s still the same sketch just turned sideways. I’m going to be an Aunt again and I’ve been working very hard on getting a baby blanket done. It hasn’t been going so well I’ve had to rip out and start over about four times now, Just wasn’t liking what I had done. I’m well on my way now but I sure am not going to be done by the baby shower!!
The card base is a returning color called Musty Moonlight, I paired it up with a couple of small pieces from some new designer series paper. I love daisies so I turned these into some Lazy Susan’s —  Yellow with a black center they are always so pretty.
Flower cards are really easy I do hope that you give this sketch and theme a try. I better get back to my crocheting need to have that baby blanket done before the baby arrives.

TSOT 606 New products!😊

New cutting dies and new colors! They are always fun to get and create with! When I saw the sketch for this week I knew I wanted to try the Timeless Arrangements dies on it. They are different than some of the others that we have had. This lovely new bundle has 20 sentiments and 6 images!! The dies cut out the images and has 4 other dies that have a “bar” connecting the different sprigs that way you can layer them a little bit easier, It also has three stitched rectangles.  I used a strip of Boho Blue paper yes that’s right that blue strip is a new In-Color Boho Blue and my elements are Wild Wheat and Moody Mauve some stamped and some die-cut.  Three of the new in colors for 2023- 2025 I’m looking forward to creating with the Copper Clay and Pebbled Path the other 2 in the set of 5.
This is a mini slimline card, I have some envelopes and just don’t make this size of a card often. I believe it measures
6 1/4 x 3 1/2. When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of a slimline card. I think it turned out rather nice.
Now I’m wondering what you will do with a sketch, I so appreciate you stopping by and looking. Maybe I have inspired you to try a different sized card.  Have a lovely day!

TSOT 605 Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a bittersweet one for me. My mother has been gone for over 20 years and I miss her so very much. But as I think about her and remember her and her love for all of her children and her grand children it makes me smile. I know she would have enjoyed all her great grandchildren, showering love on them.   This card is for my mother-in-law whom I take care of in our home. She had a stroke seven years ago, is paralyzed on the right side can’t speak legibly but it’s still going strong at 99 years old! I hope it’s not too busy for her she has trouble with her eyes and her hearing isn’t the greatest either.

I received some of my new Stsmpin up products in my demo pre-order and wanted to try them out. This is the Countryside Corners bundle . I picked the DSP then matched the Colors to it, I used the die four separate times and only used one piece from each. I taped the dies together over one of the stamped pieces, it was then easy to run them through the big shot. Of course I saved all of the extra pieces to be used on another card. If you’re wondering this is the texture chic DSP, the flowers and leaves from the stamp set. No new colors…I’ve used soft succulent and petal pink to match the DSP.

TSOT 604 split lattice card with brads

Well here’s my card, I used brads, I made strips, but the sketch isn’t exactly the sameπŸ€”.  I’ve seen a lot of
lattice cards right now on Pinterest. I wanted to give it a try and thought it might work for this sketch since it’s got strips.

Cut off 3 1/2 inches from the bottom of the front of your  11 x 4 1/4th card base , cut that into five strips that are a half inch wide, what’s left cut in half lengthwise for though vertical strips.  I laid a piece of green mint tape on the back of the card front with the sticky side up. Played the half inch strips on that top piston them.  Glued the thinner pieces on top to hold all onto the card front.  After I had this all put together I thought it would look a lot better with a wood grain look. So I took some more strips ran them through the Big shot with a wood grain Embossing folder. I added a middle panel to the card for a try fold card by cutting a piece 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 scoring at 4 1/4 then adhering the 1/4 strip to the back of the card making sure the front would close over it.

Thank you for stopping by, if you have any questions on this card just put it in the comment section below and I’ll get back with you. I hope you try this sketch I know mine is a little bit more elaborate but the sketch that was on for this Tuesday is a really nice one. Give it a try,  We’d love to see what you can do with it!
