TSOT 464 A Vintage Birthday

I decided to pull out my new stamp set let’s see,  I don’t always have their name right at my fingertips so I’m looking for the stamp set so I can tell you what the name of it is oh Prized Peony. I haven’t played with it yet and decided I wanted to use it. So I made a panel and stamped a bunch of peonies on it masking as I went along and then colored them in some.
I have to tell you vintage style cards are hard for me. I’m never sure what to do with them other than distressing the edge of the paper.  After I made my panel I decided it probably needed to be toned down a little so I used some splatters of the new in color Cinnamon Cider and scrunched it up then I thought -I don’t like that!  So I stamped another Peony cut it out to pop it up on the card what do you think? Used some of the new InColor 6 x 6 designer series paper in Cinnamon Cider and distressed that, punched the edge with an old stampin’ up edge punch that I really do like. Then added a little cream strip of Card stock behind it so you could see the design. I used some fine gold ribbon wrapped three times not sure you can see it very good. The sentiment is from Label Me Bold which was in the spring mini catalog and is now retired.  There you have it I think I followed the theme and the sketch this time pretty well. At least I think it looks sort of vintage but like I said I’m not a big vintage person when it comes to making cards so if you think I could’ve done something different to make it more vintage let me know! There’s a place below or you can leave comments it sure is nice to see what other people think! Have a wonderful day don’t let this one scare you off I sure didn’t! Check everybody else out and remember we’ve got a open spot on the designer team.

Down below I’m going to put another card that I did for a blog heart that I’m a part of and their theme was Splish splash also.

TSOT 462 Patterns

OK our theme is patterns. What does that mean to you ? It can mean lots of things to many different people. I guess my patterns are different styles of Stamping thus creating different patterns....I have a sponged cloud pattern, I have a DSP pattern, I have a watercolor pattern, and I used a die cut pattern. Oh yes I also have a pattern  on the Sun made by tapping markers on the rubber to give it a little bit of a textured look.  What do you think?

Splish Splash - The Joy Of Sets June blog hop

Hello and I hope you’re having a wonderful day it’s a lovely day here in Ohio.   I think these little ducks are are having a grand time splish splashing in this pond !! I enjoyed using them to create this card,  I’ve had the stamp set for a while and I’ve never used it, it immediately came to my mind when I saw our theme. Are you going to be doing any Splish splashing this summer?  The grandchildren have been enjoying their little pool at my sons house.
Quite a few products and different companies were used to make this card, so if anyone’s interested in a particular technique they see or item just leave me a comment and I’ll try to get back with you on what it is that I used or how I did it. Hasn’t everyone in the hop done a superb job? Oh you haven’t seen them all? Better get to hopping, no splashing allowed computers and phone wouldn’t appreciate the water. πŸ˜€. we all love to know what you’re thinking about what we’ve done. Maybe you could try making a card with the theme Splish splash. Now it’s time to hop on over to Brenda Nelson s’ blog to see what she’s created!                    click her name   Brenda Nelson    (can't get button below to work)

TSOT #461 New stamp set - Tasteful Touches

What inspires you when you look at the above photo? Or is your eye drawn to the sketch?  I guess I looked and was intrigued with the colors on the photo. Wanting to use a new stamp set I choose to only use the photo this time.
One of the new In Colors that Stampin' Up has come out with is called Cinnamon Cider and I thought of it when I looked at the picture so I went with that color for the card stock layer and added an old brown - Creamy Caramel to stamp the background design and  feathers in ( I don't have the new inks yet!). I used the Mango Melody and So Saffron to get a peachy/yellowish color for the flowers. (hmm wonder what it would have looked like if I'd stamped the Mango color on the new Bumblee Bee card stock, might have to try it😊) Added just a tad of green with pear pizzaz for the sentiment and sponged the very vanilla card base edge to bring it all together.
Hope to see a lot of cards on this one there is much room to be creative.  Creating a card/project is a wonderful thing to do.  In this day and age where texting is so easy don't forget to send a card to someone just to let them know they are special - Surprise them!!!!  Having something tangible to hold in your hands and knowing someone spent the time making it will brighten a day - It does mine. Happy Creating!!!
This stamp set is nice, has 4 any day sentiments and the 5 image stamps 2 that will make nice backgrounds. I used the larger one on this card and stamped the whole cinnamon cider piece thought it would add some dimension.

TSOT #460

Guess when I was making this card I forgot to look at the theme - good thing we have this as an option.  I decided to make a swing card from a die I have with three squares, I  had some cute animal faces placed them on the squares (yep I substituted), colored them added my dsp and sentiment to complete the card.   Lots of birthdays and we live on a farm so I used the cow, pig, and chick (all of which we have).
This view kinda shows how the squares will swing and are on a fold on the front of the tri-panel card.

Enjoy this one, I may have to try it with the suggested theme if I can find some time.  Would love to know what you think of this and be sure to check out all the other designers.

Homemade DSP

Have you ever made your own DSP paper? I have a few times, there’s a YouTube channel called Artful Stamping with Ruth that I enjoy watching...
