Let’s Ride

Today I found myself talking with my sister in Florida and doing some water coloring at the same time. I used a retired Stamping upset that I’ve had for a while, and some art impressions stamps. It was time well spent in two ways, I spent time with my sister, and I got a birthday card done.

TSOT challenge 504 Introducing Hand-Penned Petals

Introducing the new beautiful Stampin'  Up set --Hand-Penned Petals.  When I first saw the catalog I knew this would be on my order.  I'm somewhat a Versatile stamper, I love to watercolor, use alcohol markers, and 2, 3 (or more) step stamp.  This set will work for just about all that!!! SMILE
On this card I have used the Stampin' Up Blends to color with-  they are alcohol markers.  New colors and new stamps are always fun to play with,  I colored the flowers with Fresh Fresia and Soft Succulent.   The card base is Highland Heather, Soft Succulent card stock is layered on the basic white, Daffodil Delight is the oval piece, I cut this with the retired stitched shapes, the DSP in this Suite is just breathtaking! The more I look at the card I kinda wish I hadn't put the black shadow behind the flowers.
Thankyou for stopping by, what do you think?  leave the black shadow or try to remove it?

Hello all!!

New stamp from  Altenew I just had to get a couple sets I’ve had my eye on when they had free shipping!

I watercolored the focal image. The background was done with alcohol markers scribbled onto vellum then used a brush and dabbed the colors with alcohol from a small container. The more alcohol used the more the colors spread and can fade out. Don’t paint just dab or you’ll end up with a muddy mess. I added gold leafing to the top of the vellum panel. I used the fine tip glue pen, added the heat and stick powder, heated it, and then added the gold leafing. Now I may be partial but I think it turned out really nice.

TSOT challenge 503 - April 18

Oh my April is quickly passing by.  You know the old saying...April showers bring May flowers.  I decided to use a flower set for this card.

I tried to follow the sketch closely this time but I gave it a little twist, literally.  This type of  card is often called a pop and flip card. When it is opened the focal Image pops through and flips to the inside, neat right. You might ask about the bow....-well there is a string around the paper holding the tulips. 😁 I love seeing this flower come up in the spring.

Talking about tulips have you heard this poem?

There are tulips in the garden,

There are tulips in the park,

But the tulips I like the best,

Are the two-lips in the dark.  😀😂🤣😁

Okay, okay I’ll quit, hope you give this throwback sketch a try and If you do maybe you’ll let me know if I inspired you.

TSOT challenge 502 more than one fold

Welcome once again - I've been AOL for a couple weeks.  I had a suprise visit from my Florida sister and my husband and I celebrated our 34th anniversary the 4th of the month, so I've been a bit busy.

I have three samples for this absolutely great challenge- technique. More than one fold on a card is so much fun.  I love making unusual cards to send as they are always a surprise to the recipient.  On the first 2 card samples I show them closed and they are flat to go in an envelope.   The 2nd picture shows  them opened and standing up.

This is a box card and does also fold flat for mailing  I cut the front of the box for a peek  to see into the ocean. covered it with acetate.  :0)  Lots of fussy cutting on this one.

New family members!

2 new greats were born since the first of the month and I finally got cards made.   Sadie Mae joined our niece Rebecca’s family and Eric “J...
