Hedgehog happy

I was working on a card for my card class in February. This is one that I came up with, what do you think is it a yes or is it nah???

Since this group makes two cards, I thought I would do a valentine card for the other one. Haven’t figured that one out yet got any suggestions? Add it in the comments below.😀

TSOT # 540 Monochromatic

Monochromatic... big word for what some would think could be a hard card to make.  I guess that all depends on your way of looking at it.  There are so many different shades of one color that it really isn’t hard to make a card like that.  Most often a white, black can be added and it is still considered monochromatic.

The card I made was inspired by another Stamper- Michelle. (Her card had one butterfly I believe) She does a lot of sponging and blending, that’s what gives this card it’s wow factor.  All blues as you can see with a touch of white and black.  I tried to give the largest butterfly a shadow in the water, it doesn’t show real well.

Other than rotating the card I felt like it followed the sketch, at least I was working in that direction. One big butterfly and then the 3 Little ones.  I’ll put the sentiment somewhere around the horizon line.  What do you think, did I succeed???

I used the Butterfly Brilliance Stampin Up stamp set for the larger butterfly and the Positive Thoughts set for the smaller 3.   Sponging was done with sponge daubers then I went in and added texture on the water with white and the same blue. It you keep adding the same color to a certain area it will appear a darker shade. I used post it notes to mail the horizon line making the water lighter and the sky darker in that area.

Thanks for coming and maybe if you have a minute let me know what you think of my monochromatic inspired card in the comments below.  Have a great day and we hope you’ll join us in stamping and trying your hand at this technique and/or sketch.

TSOT challenge 539 use DSP

Not much stamping on this card, I’ve used lots DSP. That is just what “Thing 1 - Trouble Maker” said to do, use three different pieces. Each part of this “Z” card has a different piece, then the trees, snowballs, and Penguins-“Thing 3’s -Twisted Sister” request were cut from DSP.  Guess the only thing I didn’t do was use the sketch.  I had every intention of using it but then I was looking on Pinterest and saw a “Z” fold card, my eyes saw the penguins laying on my desk, and my mind went in that direction. Sometimes you just have to let the creative juices flow!

Thanks for stopping by, if you keep scrolling down you’ll see the sketch and the other 2 challenges listed.

Optional Theme: Use 3 different patterns

Thing 1: Trouble Maker
says, "It's Winter and I'm just chillin' and I don't want to make things complicated. That's why I'm asking you to use three patterned papers - just "Mix 'Em Up"!  It's that simple... That's all you need.

IF you want to be a little ambitious and boost your creativity our partner has this sketch that is perfect for using patterned papers. You may also feel free to change orientation of the sketch... rotate the sketch or use its mirror image." IF you choose to use this sketch you will receive another chance at our random draw.

Thing 3Twisted Sister
says, "January 20th is World Penguin Awareness Day! I'm also chillin', but not with Trouble Maker. I'm chillin' with the penguins. So for my optional twist, let's waddle with a clumsy swaying motion and include a penguin in our projects."

Relax

This past Tuesday I posted a card with a new set from the Stampin up mini spring 2022 catalog.  This is another card I made with the image of a girl sitting in the window relaxing from that set.

I have a sister who lives by a lake and her husband likes to sail so this will be sent to her.

Have you made a card lately to send to anyone?  I think it is to easy to just text but not very personal. People really do appreciate the hand delivered homemade card.

January Birthdays

Happy birthday Noah,  Made my grandson a bitty ball snowman (Karen burniston dies) since he lives in Texas and they rarely get snow. It’s their first winter and he won’t be able to make a snowman. Being the good and thoughtful grandma I am I thought I’d seen him one😄.  You know what.... it won’t melt😀🤣

Why make one?   just do everything double and then have a 2nd  card for another boy who’s birthday is this month .

TSOT challenge 538 Embossing

Hello and welcome! So glad you stopped by.  Today I followed the challenge pretty closely😊.  It worked out great with some scraps/extra pieces that I had. Is always nice when they can be used up!  Our theme is embossing and I’ve used 2 different types for you.  Heat embossing with powder and 😄squeeze embossing with the big shot!  I enjoyed using both and it gave this card a nice pop.

I’ve used a new Stampin Up  set from the 2022 spring mini catalog, it has 3 image stamps and 3 sentiments. I Colored the image with Stampin blends after stamping with memento black as that is the suggested type of ink for using any alcohol markers.  It’s cut out and popped up on the front of the card with dimensionals.  (Everything else is glued/taped down)  Colors used - Misty Moonlight, soft succulent, pale papaya and crumb cake blends and card stock with just a touch of coastal cabana on the socks. I used the dainty diamonds 3D embossing folder. This is retired, but one that I really love. The words are heat embossed with black after stamping with the versa mark ink pad.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you’ll check out all the other design team cards and then...ADD one of yours for us to see!😄 Have a great day!(Stamping will make it great!)

Try Stamping on Tuesday # 537 A New Year IT Otter be fun!!

Hello and welcome to Stamping Vicki’s Visions! It’s a new year and we at Try Stamping on Tuesday will be bringing you a stamping challenge every week.  Some of you have been stamping with us for quite some time, thank you. Have you told your friends about us? We would so love to have more participation. We try to keep it pretty easy, you can follow the sketch, you can follow the theme, you can follow both, or you can turn the sketch! ( you can even just do your own thing)  It’s all about Stamping. We’ve all invested money in our stamps and they won’t be doing us any good or put a smile on someone else’s face if they just sit on a shelf, so let’s all get to Stamping! Here is our first sketch and our theme is celebrate  I guess the celebration that I’m going to say I followed is…

Happy New Year!!

Optional Theme: Celebrate

Now you might be saying to yourself Vicki  that doesn’t look like the sketch above. Remember I said were pretty easy, I turned the rotation of the card so that what I wanted to put on the card would fit. Instead of the three brads in the upper corner I used 3 seagulls. You can take your pick two shells, or two otters for the 2 shapes at the bottom of the sketch.
My card is made with a little bit of new and a little bit of old, from Stampin Up. As I am at demonstrator I was able to get some of the new product from the 2022 spring mini catalog that will run from January through June.  January and February is our special New Year’s Sala-a-bration deals.  For a qualifying purchase you can get freebies from the little sale-a-bration catalog.  This catalog has stamp sets and designer series paper-free!!  Often these supplies coordinate with items in the main catalog along with the mini catalog.  The otters was one that I got free😊, the water they are swimming in is a background stamp ( it fits a 4.25x5.5 piece) from the 2022 mini catalog. I just used part of it. The rest is from the main catalog.
Thank you for stopping I do hope if you like what I’ve made you’ll let me know in the comments section below.

Birthday boy card

We have a grandson who’s birthday is April 1st.  Since we’re celebrating on Sunday evening I decided I’d better get a card made for him tod...
