TSOT #406 Spring flowers

Hello everyone, it's Try Stampin on Tuesday time again doesn't that just make you smile?  I
actually had time to stamp on Saturday. I am usually busy what with making cookies for the coming weeks lunch boxes for my "men."  I double the batch and put cookies in baggies in the freezer so that they have enough for the week.  I found if I didn't do this the  cookies disappeared during the week and then I was making again!!๐Ÿ˜’  This method works for us the cookies in the freezer are ONLY for lunches and the cookie tupperware container cookies are for eating.  I tell them when I see they are hitting them hard-When they're gone their gone!!!! till Saturday๐Ÿ˜Š and I make again.  I had a little girl over on Thursday to have a grandma/granddaughter day,  Mommy took the boys with her.  We had a fun day reading books, stamping 2 year old style (you're never to young to start --- right!!!๐Ÿ˜‰) baking cookies for grandpa and uncles!!  Just a fun day all around!!! okay okay on with the important stuff right???!

Watercolor is the theme and I did two different kinds of that!  The background is made with reinkers and saran on Whisper White
1. lay a piece of wrap bigger than your card on your work surface.
2.  drop your choice of colors in in random order ( I used 3/4 blues)
3.  spritz with water
4.  scrunch up the wrap mixing the colors a bit leave scrunched up for a textured look
5. lay card stock on and press, pick up and see if you want to lay any section down again because it needs more ink.
6. lay card  down to dry or use heat gun if too impatient
7.  If you have plenty of ink you could do another piece, spritz with more water and do again
I made three pieces, each one the color got lighter and colors were mixed more does it remind you
    of tie-died?

The second type of water coloring I did was with some Art Impression stamps on watercolor paper.
Stamp then add water to pull the color out a bit and give it a water colored look.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I didn't bore you with all my chatter๐Ÿ˜
Have a lovely day and I do hope many of you will join us.  I would love to know what you think of my card, leave me a comment. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

TSOT #405 A little of this & a little of that

Today I had to be at my Mother-in-laws to help with her care.  She had a stroke about 2 years ago and we all help my sister-in-law when she needs it.  I went to my craft room to get some things to take along to do and found this and that sitting on my desk from other projects. Gathering them up I added a stamp that I knew I wanted to use and away I went.  I started with the early espresso card base then added this dsp on top.  The pink embossed piece came next, they matched so well!  Before I left home I added stamp pads and a watercolor piece of paper and brush so I could make the ombre piece that the sentiment is sitting on.  All in all I thought it came together really well and I love the soft pink shades and how they match the dsp piece.  Thanks for stopping in and I do hope you'll check out all the other designers AND contribute a card of your own.

Springtime!!!yea

Hello and welcome, I’m glad you stopped by.  I’m on Mother-in-law “duty” today. It really isn’t a duty more of a privilege. She had a stroke about 2 years ago that left her partially paralyzed on her right side. The family has been caring for her in her home. Her daughter is the primary caregiver with the rest of us helping when she needs to go someplace.  They always have beautiful flowers around their house a few pansy’s have already been planted. The flowers in the inspiration picture challenged me along with the happiness of spring and flowers!
I made this card and decided to join in on the Card Concept challenge #113 I would say that it probably follows the clean and layered design.  It is an eclipse card -the word spring popped up. Thank you for coming and happy stamping!!

TSOT #403

Hello all, I'm back this week. I had lots to do so decided not to push myself for last weeks challenge, did you try it?  There were some good designer cards, head over and check them out.

Well for this challenge we were challenged with a sketch as usual and our theme was embossing.  I decided to do the embossing with a die.  It really gives you more possibilities with the dies we all love!!  To do this technique you'll need some embossing mats, they are available from Stampin' Up (and I'm sure other places).  If your interested  I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator ๐Ÿ˜Š

I had this happy birthday on my desk from a card I made this week for a stamp class and decided to use it on the sketch.  I usually draw the sketch in a small book so I can look at it without getting online so I didn't look at any of the other designer cards till I was done with mine and posting.  This is what I came up with from my sketch, thought I'd use ribbon for the top and bottom of the banner shape and my sentiment is square so I turned the card.  Have a wonderful day and remember- the day is always better if you can find some time to stamp, at least I think so.

I believe spring has come to Ohio and that makes me happy and itching to get outside to the garden- it might be a tad early yet and they are calling for rain. Thanks for stopping in I do hope I'll see a card made by you on our blog Happy Stamping!

Here's the sketch. Hope on over to TSOT if you didn't come from there and check out all the other designers cards.

Optional Theme: Embossing

Homemade DSP

Have you ever made your own DSP paper? I have a few times, there’s a YouTube channel called Artful Stamping with Ruth that I enjoy watching...
