Peasant Run Stampers 12/2/2014

Oh Wow I can hardly believe is it December already!!!  I am one of those people who likes to find bargains throughout the year for Christmas gifts so I have a good bit done on that end.  Today on the first of December I'm getting ready for a stamp camp tomorrow, here is a peek at the 2 cards that my stampers will be doing.  They requested one christmas and one any occassion.  They could both be any occassion if they choose them to be I thought the tree would be a neat one for christmas.  Love the way it turned out, so elegant looking, I think.
Stamp set: Lovely as a tree,  (? on the merry christams)  any would do as long as it isn't to big
Cardstock/Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Chocolate Chip Whisper White

This 2nd card could be used for any occassion as there is no wording on the front.  Butterflies made me wish for spring!!  I know it is only the beginning of Dec. guess I'll have to wait awhile for them to return.  I wanted to use a cream paper for the stamping so I started there and then decided to look at the designer papers.  The colors I choose are from the Flashback Designer paper.  I was going to use the designer paper - Flashback then after I worked for awhile decided not to but kept the colors. The ladies and gentleman( yes one ) love embossing with the big shot so I decided to have each of the butterflies use a different design and the card base uses a stripe that I thought would look nice inside the card even though you don't see alot of it on the front of the card.
Stamp Set:  Thoughts and Prayers
Card Stock/Ink Colors:  Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Real Red, Smokey Slate, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Big Shot,  Spuare Lattice, Fancy Fan, Perfect Polka Dots, (these 3 I used for the        butterflies), Bitty Butterfly punch, Stylish Stripes on card base (retired)

Christmas Wreath

Made this christmas wreath for the craft sale and since it didn't sell I will now have a new christmas wreath on my front door.  I  guess since it is December I'd better get the Thanksgiving one down and the Christmas one up.  Easy to make and I think it turned out lovely.

Craft Sale #4 curvy boxes

Stampin up's Curvy Box is soooo fun to decorate!!!  The box is cut with 2 pieces, glued together and then the top closes and opens for adding a small treat or gift.  This box was so fun to play with and so many people shared all their ideas on Pinterest.  (a great place to go to get inspiration)  I had ordered this die the beginning of October and it was back ordered so I went to a friends house and cut some shapes to play with thinking that my die would be in soon.  Well It actually didn't arrive to me till the day after the sale.  I had one of everything that I made and sold all but about 3 of them.  This turkey was one I made after the sale and the box with the flowers was one that was left. (I actually had a few of  this one with the orange box and flowers sold 2 I think)  I forgot to get pictures of the others I made so I will be posting them as I make them again to show you.  The nice thing about these boxes is that you can open and close them and it doesn't ruin the cute box that the gift came in.  You can see the top on the orange one.  The one side has a hole and the other side has the half circle that fits into the hole to hold the box closed.

Craft sale #3

2nd wreath I made was with some more burlap ribbon.  This one had a gold edge to it and was really pretty,  I did the same as with the fall wreath (craft sale #2).  This one I made a bow for, I added the red plaid ribbon to the burlap to add some color, it has a burlap covered button in the center.  then I made the poinsetta from burlap and added red and green glitter glue,  the center is made from gold sequins from stampin up. This one didn't sell either soooo I'll have a new christmas wreath come December.  :)

Craft Sale #2

I wanted to branch out and see if any wreaths would sell, this is the first one I made.  Started with a swimming noodle and duct taped it together.  Then I covered it with some burlap ribbon and tied the ends to hold it on.  I used some Add a little Dazzle metal sheets to make the leaves that I die cut with stampin up bigz dies from last year and this year. Adhered them to cardstock with sheets of double sided tape and then used some Viva to add the fall colors.

So this did not sell and now I have a new wreath for my front door which is fine because I really liked it!!!!!   :)

My new Grandson!!!!

I just thought that since I hadn't added anything since last month I'd give anyone checking Vicki's Visions an update on what has been keeping us so busy!  My son Micah and his wife (who is 9 mo. pregnant)  are moving into a new house and we have been helping with that, Furniture moved on Oct. 8th and as a result of a BIG day we now have a new member!  James Allen was born Oct. 9th at 4:21 p.m. He was in foot breech position so they had to do a C-section.  everyone is doing well, Mom-Stephanie, Dad-Micah and little James is just fine also!!  soon maybe I'll be able to post some more crafting pictures but we are still in the moving stage,  the kids are actually in between two houses right now.  I will be getting at it soon(stamping that is) as  I do have an class coming up on the 14th that I need to finish putting together  Have a great day all.  -

Hello Fall!!

Two cards made for my upcoming party:  Can you count the differences in them?

New stamp set from Stampin' Up in the Holiday Catalog  For All Things                                             I used 3 of the newest in colors    hello honey, mossy meadow, tangelo twist
Don't peek yet study them and then look below   :0)

1.  Ribbon
2.  Wooden element
3. Card left card has a mossy line drawn around the white panel and the right one is sponged.
4.  The right card has been embossed with the wood grain embossing folder from Stampin' Up
5.   The mossy green card stock (on the right) under the focal piece has been roughened up on the edge. It doesn't look like this shows up in the picture so I give that one to you!!    :0)
So did you get all the differences?  Which one would you choose to make?  they will be offered to make on Sept. 23 at Sharon's party at 1 p.m.-  (if you'd like to come contact me and I'll get you the directions.)  Have a great day!  and thank you for taking time to look at Vicki's (that's me) Visions!

Christmas Wrapping a little early

I'm entering this gift bag into the Dazzling Diva #43 christmas challenge and the ABC Christmas Challenge blog that I just found.  I love making Bag A Lopes they are so easy and quick! ( Hope that this entry is okay since it isn't a card)

For my Focal point I started with a piece of blue metal (?name of color??)  Embossed the Scene with Silver powder.  In the ground area I added Viva Moss Green then took an Acrylic paint Dabber (pearl) I had to sponge the look of fallen snow.  Not sure you can see in the picture but I also added Viva light blue to the sky area before using the dabber. Colored the snowman with copics and added more of the pearl dabber to him.  I colored over the trees with a copic also.

The snowflakes on the bag were made with glossy white and wax paper.  If you put wax paper under your image when die cutting the image will come off the die so easily!!  I  used the pearl dabber to add a shine to the wax paper and added them and the glossy card stock flakes to the bag randomly. *** One other note if  you use a lot of die cuts that are detailed you really should invest in a Spellbinders Tool 'n One.  It is a WONDERFUL tool and will save you time and the headache of trying to get all the little pieces out of your cut image!!!  ****
The frame around my focal point is white card  stock, I added Silver Viva around the edge to color it.  I could have used silver paper but didn't have any left so made my own.  :0)

I  now have one more wrapping done for a christmas gift.  Thanks to the Dazzling challenge for giving me the idea and thank you for stopping by to see my vision!!

Stamping with Carole

My good friend and Stampin' Up "daughter" and I spent Tuesday afternoon stamping.  We often make the same card and yet each do something a little different.  On the first card here (mine) I used  2 panels of paper lace on the left under the jute and then added some of the lace paper to the hearts to give them texture, you can't see in the picture but I put crystal effects on the lace pieces on the hearts.

This card was made by Carole and she used real eyelet ribbon.  She embossed her hearts the picture doesn't show that real well.

Happy Fall! Dazzling Diva # 42

Add a little dazzle!! with metal sheets here I used three colors.  Embossed the mustard color then took a copic marker to make the vanes on the leaves and stems.  The small red and green leaves were punched from metal and I embossed the red one to give it some texture.  The wooden leaf is a new product from stampin' up and I used a scrap green piece of twine that I had to tie it all on.  I used an old stiff paint brush to dab on the colors for the tree leaves and ground.  The sky was also sponged, I used a piece of packing that I had cut up for it.  Look around your house and you may find many things to use in your stamping.   I love the fall colors and the cooler air although this year it seems we've jumped into winter weather already!!

Peaceful Petals reflection

Every Wednesday I receive an email from Splitcoast stampers with a new tutorial/technique. Since I wasn't busy in the kitchen today I decided to give it a try.  I think I really like the looks of this card and am really enjoying the water coloring techniques that I have been trying lately. I made my own stencil for this by stamping and then cutting the inside out so the shape was left on the plastic packaging I used so I would have it to use again and I will definitely be making some more! I used watercolor paper and Stampin' Up inks.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my vision!
I had embossed this for the front but didn't like it so I used it as the inside and added the sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper left over from a previous card.  After taking the picture I saw the smudge and then added a popped up flower.

Pheasant Run stamp camp #2

This is the second card made on August 12th with my seniors group.  I often use my old wooden stamps with them, and this is an old set.  We did add some new to the card with the sequins and the hello honey card stock.  It is bright and cherry and could be used for many different occasions!

FMS 149 challenge

Hello,  I was working in my craft room last evening and had the focal part of this card done but not put on a base.  This morning after seeing the sketch layout it was like a light bulb going off!!  Oh yes, yes, yes that is exactly what it needed.  I guess that is what I love about challenges they give me ideas to jump start or finish a vision I might have.  I used 2 stamps from the Bordering Blooms set to create the edge of the focal image with a couple extra small flowers thrown in from the flower patch. The flower that is over and under the bday greeting matches the flower from the borders set perfectly just larger!!!  I love orange and yellow flowers so that is my color choice this time, and the DSP paper gave it the ommph it needed.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day I love comments don't you? on creative visions???  if you have a little time leave me one and thanks a bunch.

Late Night Stampers challenge 255

Not sure who came up with this name but I really like it!!!  Often that is me to the tee... life is so busy on a farm that I'm crafting either late at night or early in the morning.  I was playing last evening in my craft room and decided to try to stretch myself and use a stamp set in an unusual way.  I love that the new poly-stamps can be curved a little and that's what I did with this card.  I used the Flower Patch set and made this wreath. can you figure out which stamps I used???  :0)             After I had my focal done I decided to add some circles and  this is what I came up with.  Circles, circles, circles   right in line with this weeks challenge. Let me know what you think I love to hear from others on what their opinion is on my visions.  thanks and have a great day.

Dazzling Diva challenge 38

Our family doesn't really go to the beach but there is just something about a water scene that says RELAX!!  Wouldn't you just love to sit on the end of this pier and dangle your feet in the water I would.  To sit for a bit and just look out over the water hearing the waves ...makes feel a little relaxed just thinking about it.

I used watercolor paper, markers, watercolor brush to create the background.  Stamped the image in Stazon black then colored over to give the detail coloring. Gave my metal some texture with an old stampin' up texturz plate that did the same thing as an embossing folder.  I added a little Viva Decor to tone down the bright blue of the metal a tad.  I went around the black focal image and the metal with some gold ink then placed all on a black piece.  What do you think of my Vision??  I love getting comments, thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Asian box

I'm part of a Stampin Up group that has been sending gifts to a secret stamper.  This will be my final gift for my rak pak friend.   I made the box and covered it with an Asian theme.  If you keep scrolling down you'll see that it has a fake bottom in it, just thought that would make it fun.  I made a much larger box along the same line as this in a previous post (May - Wedding box and album) for my sisters wedding pictures if you're interested in seeing it, I also have a you tube video showing it.

New Clear stamps

Stampin up has been trying the waters with clear stamps for about a year and now in the new catalog they are available to purchase.  This card is made from a set that is Not in the catalog but can be purchased.  I put the words of my choice on a clear block and then stamped repeatedly for the background.  The cake is the only image in this set of 15 the other stamps are all words.  Once again I used the lost lagoon color and added some alcohol colored rhinestones and then some candy dots to give it that little extra dazzle.  Thanks for stopping by and seeing my vision.

Stamp Camp #2

Okay everyone who can guess which new stamp set this is made from.  Thought it would be okay for all the men in this family.  I really like the new blue lagoon color and I used the starburst framelit die.

Stamp Camp #1

I made this card a few weeks ago for a stamp camp. This is #1  using the new stamp set and matching dies, Flower Power, just love using them.  Not sure you can see all the dazzle on it but we used a good bit of glitter glue.  Now I am NOT a glitter person but I think I could come to like the glitter glue!!  The new Embossing folders with 2 frames was put on a white layer then covered up with a post it note that I cut out. We then sponged the circles on the card and sponged the edge to bring it all together.  Stamped, cut and popped up the flowers, the blue one has 3 layers and we hand cut the top two so they were smaller.  what do you think?

Dazzling Diva challenge 37

I just HAD to do some card making tonight!!!  I have been working for the last 5 work days - VERY unusual for me!!  I'm a fill in girl and am filling in for some one on vacation (2 days to go).  Tonight I was relaxing and looking through my e-mails and checking out some of my favorite sites, I came across the Add a Little Dazzle one and decided to join the challenge.  I have had some of the metal sheets for a long time and from time to time will use them.  The word Peace and some of the little punched leaves are metal. I do not have any of the Lawn Fawn word stamps so I used part of an old one from Stampin' Up (hope that's okay).  A neighbor man passed away this week so I needed a sympathy card and I think this will fit the bill.  Thanks for stopping by. I love to read comments let me know what you think of this particular Vicki's Vision.

"Manly" card

I was asked to bring a "manly" card to my Pheasant Run group next week.  Do you think this fits the bill???  It is a pretty easy card and will go together quick so I decided to spruce up the inside a little bit.  Saw a video on you-tube with this sponged look on the inside and decided it would look nice with this card.  What do you think?  come again and you'll see more of my visions.

Clear block stamping

How about a watercolor scene.  The sunsets this summer have been so pretty!!!  We have an orchard/pasture behind and beside our house and there are a few big trees left out there.  My husbands grandfather planted it.  Anyway, that is often where I see such beautiful acts of God in the sky.  I'm so glad He gave us color and I can see it.  This card was an acrylic block stamped sunset, I colored with markers on a large block then spritzed with water generously.  Stamped it on WATERCOLOR paper (it will absorb the inked water). Stamped and colored the trees added borders and placed it all on a marina mist piece that had been decorated with some DSP and paper piercing.  Wonder who will get this card from Vickis' Visions, maybe you   :0)

SUO challenge 102

The garden has kept me pretty busy (98qt. green beans, ). We raise most of our own food- garden, cows, pork, turkey, chickens......  I can just about year round but more so in the summer when the garden is producing.  Tonight I made Lemon Zucchini Bread, yum yum!  Okay enough of that on to stamping
.
I have had these 2 stamp sets and framelit for about a month and haven't had time to play with them.  It was so much fun to use them tonight and be creative!! I decided to check out some of  the challenge blogs that I enjoy entering and following, I Love challenges was the one that caught my eye tonight since it encouraged us to use a new product.   Let me know what you think of my vision and thanks for stopping by.

PPA213

Thought I'd try to get a card in before the deadline!!!  I know I've had a whole week, well my last week was busy in the garden!!!  so today I came to play. I really like this layout for a card, so easy to use and so many different ways to express it.  I have really, Loved, LOVED using this new stamp set: Flower Patch it has a framelit die to match and makes it so easy and quick to use.  I used watercolor paper for the top layers, the flower  and leaves, I stamped, framelit cut then spritzed with water to make the water blead- I think it turned out nice!!  I watercolored the new fun frames with pool party used a black marker to go around the raised part then the edge also to make it all Pop!!! I used a punch from the new Itty Bitty Punch pack for the center, the DSP is from the Flashback pack. I'm really pleased with the turn out and thank you for stopping by to see my vision!
Decorate the inside to give it that little extra  touch

Homemade DSP

Have you ever made your own DSP paper? I have a few times, there’s a YouTube channel called Artful Stamping with Ruth that I enjoy watching...
