TSOT # 526. Thankful

Well hello, I can not believe that 3/4ths of this year is almost  over. Fall is upon us and here in Ohio the weather has dropped into the low 50’s and upper 40’s.  It’s been rainy also  so it feels colder/at least to me. I love the fall colors and this time of year, but I really don’t mind summer either unless it’s extremely hot and humid and I’m canning🥴.  I bought a bushel and half of Concord grapes to make grape juice. It takes all day to do but really isn’t hard. I ended up with 24 quarts.  I THINK that is the last of the canning. 😊

I’ve been replenishing my children’s card stash and making them interactive.  My “give it a whirl die” has been on my desk and I  decided it would do well with this sketch.  I wanted to make a Thanksgiving or  Christmas card and the thanksgiving won out, what do you think?  The other 2 spots on the wheel  have a pie and a candy apple. I had to alter the mechanism a bit and added a bigger scallop behind the one that came in the die set. I used acetate for the cake stand cover, stamped with white stazon then cut out by hand.

Thank you for stopping in.  If you’d like to have any particulars on this card just leave in the comments and I’ll get back with you.

Art Impressions harvest

If you’re here from tri-stamping on Tuesday, I forgot all about getting a card ready for the challenge today. I think it’s too late to add but I’m going to try.  Sending this as a prayers for you card, so it follows the theme.

I got ready for my Stamp camp that’s coming up on Thursday this morning. Then I decided I wanted to do something fun for myself this evening and I did a watercolor with art impression stamps. Fall is here trees will start changing colors soon apples, pumpkins,  and butternut squash will be ready real soon. My Canning is just about done! :-). Have a lovely day.

TSOT #524 Patterned Paper / DSP

I squeezed out some time to play along this week. I wasn’t sure about this theme of the DSP Paper. I like all the Designer series paper but I don’t find myself using them all that often. So actually this was a good challenge for me 😊.   I guess I just really like Stamping and the only stamping on this card is the sentiment, everything else came from a card kit. I used the BoHo blossom card kit from last year’s catalog it has a lot of designer series paper in the beautiful in-color moonlight madness, it will be retiring next year😕.  Since everything was in the kit I knew it would all go well together so this didn’t take much time at all. That’s one of the nice things about the kits, all the supplies coordinate and you can put together a card fairly quickly. If you are a new stamper that might be the way to get started. It takes all the guesswork out of it trying to figure out if things will look good together. Well I hope you’ll join us on this one. My gardening is coming to an end so I’m hoping I’ll be able to start posting something every week. (That’s my only excuse for not being here so often the last few months🥴)

Merriest Moments Bundle

Decided today to pull out this bundle from the Stampin Up  2021 Holiday mini catalog.   Merriest Moments is a lovely bundle with a lot of bang for your buck.  The stamp set has a layered or not poinsettia, holly leaves, berries, other greenery and sentiments,  dies to cut out the poinsettias and greenery, a stitched rectangle, AND a couple large dies that can be used with an embossing folder.  The big outline one can be used right inside the embossing folder-it will cut and emboss at the same time.  The other one will cut a more detailed version of the embossed piece.

This card shows the embossed and cut piece done together.

This one shows the one that was embossed then detail cut.

Happy Fall...almost

I have been wanting to pull out my Art  Impressions stamps for quite a while now. Yesterday evening I took the time to do just that!!  I followed a tutorial by Bonnie on this one. It’s a 3 x 3 picture I enjoyed doing and would will be making some more. Since fall is right around the corner she added pumpkins in front of the fence and fall colored leaves on the trees.  I love fall, the colors that it brings, the cooler weather, yesterday it felt like fall. I’m learning a lot about perspective and shading from the tutorials of Bonnie and Kendra.

New family members!

2 new greats were born since the first of the month and I finally got cards made.   Sadie Mae joined our niece Rebecca’s family and Eric “J...
