Shaker card

First try at a shaker card, the confetti inside the heart will shake, it is raised up with the shaker frames from stampin' up.  I re-formed them (they come circular) so it followed the "heart" shape by cutting and and placing close together. I used my new expressions thinlits die from stampin' up.  It has 3 words in it, love ,thankful and merry. Thanks for taking a peek stop back by again.

box card

How about a box card, easy and fun to make,  I got the directions for this card from splitcoast stampers.  It will lay flat to send through the mail and then will POP open when the belly band is taken off and it will sit up.  The back side of the box has a white panel to put your sentiment and sign.

CASED card

The saying among stampers is; Copy and Share Everything = CASE   this is a cased card, Michelle Zindorf is amazing when it comes to scenes like this I used a card she made as my "pattern".  I really enjoy making these types of cards, they are a little more involved but ohhhh soooo pretty!!  at least I think so.  Thanks for stopping to look.

PPA189 Happy Watercolor

I am on a roll... 2 challenges in a row,  guess my creative juices are rolling. ha ha  This is a card for the Paper Players Arts challenge.  I decided to make a simple front with a swing twist on the inside of the card with 2 messages, hope that's okay for the sketch design.  I like how it turned out, I used the Label thinlit and some of the oh so beautiful watercolor DSP and the Happy Watercolor stamp set
from the Celebrate the Everyday mini catalog.  I used the Darling Dots and the You're Lovely stamp set from  the Sale-A-Bration mini. I also turned my card vertical instead of the horizontal like shown on the sketch I have the 4 layers just turned so I hope that's acceptable.  What do you think?

Here is the inside on the left is the front of the swing and it says psst... on the banner from the Label thinlit and the back of the swing I stamped and fussy cut the Your Lovely from the SAB set.

MOJO Monday challenge 330

They said tall and skinny so I made mine tall and skinny!!!  This card fits an envelope size                 4 1/8 x 9 1/2  I decided to use some new products that I haven't played with yet and this is what I came up with.  We have LOTS of men in this family so I used colors they wouldn't be offended with, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight all set on a Smokey Slate base.  the starburst framelits die and stamp set- starburst sayings along with the chevron punch compliment the watercolor wonder dsp from the celebrate the everyday mini catalog.  I just couldn't throw away all the chevron pieces so I added them to the inside of the card to spruce it up a bit.  The white strip was cut with one of the starburst circles at top and bottom to help tie it all together.  Hope you like my vision of this MOJO monday sketch.

Cold and canning, check this one out!!!

One thing I don't like about living in an old farm house is that my craft room often gets closed up to conserve heat in the rest of the house.  It sure is hard to stamp with COLD fingers and in a cold room!  Is it summer time yet? ! ? I know I just need to get tough :)  either that or plan a day to play and open up the room and add a heater :) !!!  YES!!!  soon !!
My daughter-in-law and I have been a little busy this month, canning and more canning, now you may be asking yourself what is she canning, well I'll tell you  beef and chicken, we raise our own meat so we had a cow butchered the first of the month and we canned hamburger - if you've never had canned hamburger you don't know what your missing. This week we will be busy canning our old laying hens, after a year a hen doesn't lay as well and we use them for canning.  This process is much more involved as you have to cook and debone the chicken before putting it in jars to can.  They make the best canned chicked though as they make a good rich broth. Did you know that the older the hen the richer and stronger the broth will be.  I'm so thankful that we have all this available and can use our own home grown food!!! Yes it is work but it is soooo worth it!  have a great day to all who take the time to read this post, if you do I have a free gift for you - contact me by leaving a comment with your e-mail address and I 'll contact you!  Vicki

Mini Box #2

It sorta looks like a treasure chest, (it is not original to me) the button once again is the opener.  It has more room in it with the angled top. I used the DPS and the cotton thread from the sale-a-bration catalog.

Mini Boxes 1

I have been making mini boxes, some use the envelope punch board and some the score board.  This one has a fold back lid that is attached, I decorated it with some DSP. the button I sewed onto the top for a pull tab to open the box.

First Card of the new year!

I decided a few days ago to make a card with
some of the new occassions/sale-a-bration catalogs products that I have.  My youngest sister lives many miles away and I just had to send her this card.  She is a demonstrator also and often we will stamp with each other across the miles by phone - we need to do this again haven't done it all year :)  This stamp set has 2 flowers and 5 other stamp 3 words and 3 "shape" designs that could be easily used on other cards. The dots around the frame part of the card is one of them.  I stamped and cut out the flowers to make them dimensional. The ribbon was actually from last years sale-a-bration catalog.

Homemade DSP

Have you ever made your own DSP paper? I have a few times, there’s a YouTube channel called Artful Stamping with Ruth that I enjoy watching...
