TSOT #521 School Days

Although I don’t have school age children I do have grandchildren so this card will go to one of them.

Do you have more time to stamp/craft after school starts? I would think many mourners would unless they are home schooling.  This is an easy sketch give it a try, the pieces and parts don’t have to be exact. The theme is fun and any child would really appreciate a back to school card. Oh and let’s not forget the teachers if you know one they would love to know they’re thought of and appreciated.

TSOT #

Hello I’m glad you stopped by, we’re all Stamper’s/card markers-it’s what we do and love it. Have I ever told you about my card making ‘love’?😄  I really love to make cards that have moving parts! It’s a challenge to me and a fun surprise to who ever is getting the card! This card fills that urge in me.

I used a new free SAB set on the front of the card-Feels like home. The sentiment on the second panel -pull down section- (both sides) are from the  Sunny Sentiments set in the annual catalog. The pots on what looks like the third panel when pulling it down are from the Plentiful Plants stamp set and DSP ( I fussy cut some images).  I just love how it looks like a simple pull down with the panels and then the one pops up to reveal another space!!

I watched a you tube tutorial to make this, it isn’t really hard. But it would be pretty hard to write out all the directions. Look under this name and title below if your interested in trying your hand at this fabulous card design! I’m going to make some more.

TSOT #518. Let’s go to the ocean!

Well I think I've been adding my posts a little late in the day and they haven't been on the Try Stampin site, so I'm doing this earlier.  If you want to look back at the last couple weeks they are there!

I decided to follow the card sketch and theme this week.   Revisited the Whale Done set for this theme of Ocean.  I made the background with  reinkers,  alcohol, and vellum then ran it through the retired sea waves embossing folder.  the DSP is retired from last year but I still have some and wanted to use it.
I made the book binding card with an explosion piece on the inside.  It is really easy to do, just take a piece of DSP paper - 5 3/4 x 5 3/4  (6x6 is a bit to big)
1.  fold in half, open
2.  turn and fold in half again, open
3.  if you have a piece that needs to go in a certain direction like mine, decide which corners you want to adhere to the card and then fold them corner to corner to form a triangle-
the "corners"  that will be pushed in when the card is folded have the scored diagonal line- fold in both directions.
4. Push the 2  corners with the diagonal score line in while collapsing the other two above and below --
you can see the fold in the picture below
 - I like to add adhesive to one side at a time to secure it inside the card.

Thanks for stopping by     This is an easy fun fold card to make.
Hoping we can get some more participation -  Seems harder to stamp in the summer time and now with school starting back up soon I know many are taking last minute vacations and shopping for school supplies, that's one thing I no longer have to do.  Will your children be back in school or at home again with all that is happening in this world these days.
Have a great day
