TSOT 604 split lattice card with brads

Well here’s my card, I used brads, I made strips, but the sketch isn’t exactly the same๐Ÿค”.  I’ve seen a lot of
lattice cards right now on Pinterest. I wanted to give it a try and thought it might work for this sketch since it’s got strips.

Cut off 3 1/2 inches from the bottom of the front of your  11 x 4 1/4th card base , cut that into five strips that are a half inch wide, what’s left cut in half lengthwise for though vertical strips.  I laid a piece of green mint tape on the back of the card front with the sticky side up. Played the half inch strips on that top piston them.  Glued the thinner pieces on top to hold all onto the card front.  After I had this all put together I thought it would look a lot better with a wood grain look. So I took some more strips ran them through the Big shot with a wood grain Embossing folder. I added a middle panel to the card for a try fold card by cutting a piece 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 scoring at 4 1/4 then adhering the 1/4 strip to the back of the card making sure the front would close over it.

Thank you for stopping by, if you have any questions on this card just put it in the comment section below and I’ll get back with you. I hope you try this sketch I know mine is a little bit more elaborate but the sketch that was on for this Tuesday is a really nice one. Give it a try,  We’d love to see what you can do with it!

More flowers!!

I received some new Die-cuts that are like cover plates.  Two of them sort of went together. I decided to try to use them together in an unusual way. One of them I cut normally, that’s the top background piece.  The second one I decided to try a Simon Hurley technique. I used his large foam stamping block. You heat it up then can pick up textures on the block by pressing into the heated “foam”. (other stamps, die-cuts, embossing folders, textured things around the house) They are neat because when you’re done with that particular design you can heat the block again and the design goes away so you can use it for something different.   I decided to use one of the cover dies, when you press it into the foam and then Ink up the foam it makes the  negative design.  I used the foam twice with petal pink card stock and ink.  One panel I used behind the petal pink die-cut and the other in the inside of the card shown below.

Remember the previous card?  I used some flowers that I had colored some time ago, well these flowers, leaves, and butterfly came from the same stash ๐Ÿ˜Š.   I like how it turned out!!  I have more Flowers… maybe I’ll have to make some more, try a different color. What do you suggest?  Do you like this? Have you heard of these foam stamping blocks?  Simon Hurley has  a lot of suggestions on how to use them. You can find him on YouTube and Pinterest has many ideas. Thanks for stopping by and I’d really like to know what you think?

TSOT 603. Flowers

So this is a newly made card, from things that I made a while ago. I bought a new shelving unit and that meant sorting, cleaning, getting rid of things, and finding treasures. Seems I need to have things in sight so that I can see them in order to use them. Found a container that had colored pieces in it And backgrounds that I had made. There they sat because, like I said, I didn’t see them so I didn’t use them! I think I pretty well followed the sketch other than that I did turn the card I’ll let you decide. I’m always in need of birthday cards so I put a birthday sentiment on this one.

I’m sorry, I don’t remember where these flowers came from. The background was made with an old Stampin Up stencil and I have some gold stencil paste by Bo Bunny. I spunged around the edge of the card to draw your eye to the sponging on the oval piece behind the flowers.

I hope you have a lovely day it’s April, April showers bring May flowers๐Ÿ˜.  So our theme is flowers, we sure would love to see some flowers on a card that you have made and remember you don’t have to follow the sketch just enjoy your time and create something beautiful. Remember we are our own greatest critics so don’t think it’s not beautiful!! If it was handmade by you, whoever you send it to will think it is lovely. Have a great day.

TSOT 602 Rainbow

OK rainbow theme! I thought of this die set that I have and when I went to find it I had a bunch of rainbows made already. Now I know my colors are not in the right place but when you cut this rainbow out it cuts out all the layers in one color. So evidently I needed to cut them all out one time to get my colors in the correct places and I have all these extras left so I put them together and that’s my rainbow for today.

I think I sorta followed the sketch except that I turned it. For the rectangle shape I replaced the two hot air balloons. And then the sentiment coming over from the side what do you think will it pass for the sketch?

I don’t often make this kind of card. What kind of card you ask, well let me tell you. The only Stamping on this card is the sentiment, Everything else was die cut. I’m more of a stamper but I enjoyed putting these hot air balloons together.  It is a set that I have never used before and I got it in a drawing for free, It’s from Sizzix I kinda like it.

Well thanks for stopping by, if you haven’t yet I do hope you’ll check out the others on the design team.  Oh and goodness don’t forget to add your card! We would love to see what you do with the sketch or theme or both or neither. Have a great day, it’s always a good day when you can do a little bit of cardmaking!

Fun flower card

I have gotten some daffodils and grape hyacinths from my yard already. They are so lovely together and the hyacinth smells wonderful. The tulips are coming though, they’re one of my favorites especially yellow ones. I ordered and received a new die to make these lovely flowers! I used watercolor paper and color burst to make card stock to cut the flowers and leaves out of each one looks a little bit different.

TSOT 601 Pastels

Well it’s a sad/happy day. Here is a card with 2 retired colors from Stamping Up, The color line up is getting an update, 15 colors!!! That’s what we’re saying goodbye to ๐Ÿ˜ณ  so it’s sad because some of those colors were great! But a happy day because we’re getting 11 new core  colors in the main catalog line up and then the normal 5 new 2023-2025 In Colors.        7 of the main core colors are from previous years -the In Colors lines,  Then 4 absolutely new ones.  The new catalog goes live the beginning of May. Looking forward to the new, time to create new cards with new color combinations!

So I used the pastel theme but didn’t really follow the sketch. Have a lovely day, my 36th anniversary is April the 4th! Hoping to spend time with my man!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜€
