Here's my "try" for the stampin on Tuesday Just had to use the Howdy from the old stampin up set Happy Trails Baja Breeze :( sorry to see you go!!
The brown/blue embossed piece is the acrylic distress technique
1. paint cardstock with acrylic paint - use a sponge or foam paint brush to spread the color- you don't need a lot just a thin coat.( this is the color that will peak through )
2. Let Dry
3. Pick your embossing folder and run through the big shot.
4. Using the sanding block, buff off the raised areas of the embossed piece and your background
color will show. Now create your card and wow everyone with your two toned card stock!!
I also distressed the edges of some of the layers because, well distressed and roughin it go together!!
Thanks for stoppin by Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge 120 sketch

Something Quick on Saturday #2
It's time for another Something Quick on Saturday! and since the title is "something" I decided to show you something other than a card.
2 coasters, the first I did with dsp, cardstock and stamps... I stamped with the stazon black and, then colored in with markers, I will need to use colored pencils next time as the ink ran a little. Covered with Crystal Effects and let sit to dry, it is still a little wet and I'll probably let it sit for 24 hrs. that isn't really quick, but it was real quick to put it together and then walk away to sit and dry.
The second is my favorite and I feel a better way to do coasters: Colored the tile with watercolor crayons and spread some by rubbing my finger over it to blend. Stamped with the black stazon pad and then took outside and sprayed with acrylic sealer, let it sit to dry while I baked some cookies, then sprayed again when I took the clothes out to hang on the closeline. I think I have put 3 coats on now and it is 5p.m. Well what do you think? These would be great inexpensive gifts for any occassion as you could personalize them to the individuals liking.. Have a great Sunday, and try a little something different with your stamps and supplies.

challenge combo. TSSC264 + JAI166
When I saw this color combination I thought of the Zoo Review stamp set. I hope that it was okay with the challenge(just add ink) to add the black. Thought is would be neat to combine a sponged background with a challenge so when I saw the TSSC layout decided to give it a try. Here's the color combination, sketch and mine. Decided not to post for the JAI since I did add the black. but I sure did enjoy making this card.

Simple and Quick!!
Another freshly made sketch challenge, this time I teamed it up with the just add ink color combination challenge; I needed to make a quick card and this was it. Ran both whisper white and midnight muse through the big shot with the cloudy day embossing folder ( which I just realized was NOT in the new catalog, bummer) Then stamped and cut out the hot air balloons from the UP,up and away stamp set. Used the Lucky limeade and Crumb cake for this step. Stamped the happy birthday in the midnight muse. I always need birthday cards and this one will be great for all the males in this extended family. Thanks for looking.
Perk up !! It's Hump Day
Hump Day is the middle of the work week. My father usually calls me around noon on Wednesdays since that is truely the hump time of the week by now half of the week is done and half still to go. So I thought we could all use a little perk up with a coffee card. I know it reads: a morning without coffee... is like sleep but I decided it applies to this special day of the week. Happy Hump Day to your all!!

MOJO294
I have had this orange Your how old piece laying on my desk for quit a while and decided to use it in this challenge. The colors tangerine tango and tempting turquoise are such bright cheery colors and suitable for either male or female. I really like how it turned out, the candles are a builder wheel called Candle Crazy it is being discontinued BUT the new Stampin' Up catalog will have a jumbo candle wheel!! Think it will be a great one to get and maybe sometimes pair up with the little one. Here is the sketch layout:

combo challenge: FMS86 + CCMC252
I decided to do a combination of 2 challenges, Freshly Made Sketches and the color challenge, soft suede, sahara sand, so saffron. I stamped the butterfly with soft suede on so saffron then covered it with versa mark and ran it through the polka dot embossing folder, covered with clear embossing powder and heat set to make it look kinda glassy I don't think this step shows up in the picture. I made my decorative border on the soft suede piece with the petite curly label punch. Mounted all on Sahara Sand, Oh so easy to do: here's how 1. draw a line on your cardstock
2. line up the middle "pointy" part on the side of the punch with the line and then
punch.
3. continue this process across the card stock and there you have a decorative piece with a punch that you may not have thought to use in this way!!
I colored the ribbon Sahara Sand with a sponge and stamp pad - don't forget to do both sides :)
Punched out two petite labels cut the sahara sand one in half to use as a partial border and make the sentiment stand out a little. I stamped the saying from Petite pairs using the soft suede marker and color-selecting what I wanted to stamp from one of the sayings.
Well that's all for today, I sure do thank you for looking and sure would love to get some comments, have a great day

Pool Party flowers
1. stamped flowers on pool party with versa mark stamp pad, added white embossing powder and heat set.
2. Used the fine tip end of the pool party marker to trace inside each petal next to the embossing - since it is raised it is easy to stay inside the petals.
3. ran to top of this piece that is empty through the big shot with the fancy fan embossing folder
4. added the black ribbon to front and taped on the back.
5. added the tie to the front, I wanted the ribbon to fall on the opposite side of the card than the flowers so I acutally layed the ribbon from the top left corner down over the flowers then tied and the ribbon layed opposite from how it was originally.
6. Layered onto a piece of basic black card stock cut just an 1/8 th of an inch bigger than the pool party piece; I just love this very little layer!!!
7. Mounted all onto whisper white

MOJO 293 The Great Outdoors
The Great Outdoors meets up with MOJO Monday I know it is Tuesday but I ws busy yesterday and didn't get this sketch done. Again I decided to turn the card since I was using the woodgrain folder. One of the best things is to have a big pot of camp stew cooking over the fire! The clear sky and a cool breeze blowing in the trees can't be beat. Sitting around a camp fire being away from all the noise and conviences is a great experience that our family enjoys, course with 4 boys it was inevitable.
Stamp room
2 garage sale bookcases full !! My desk sits beside a file cabnet that has my cardstock in it. Stamp pads easily picked from the wooden twirly holder on the corner of the desk. I also have an old microwave stand that has my big shot and it's supplies on. What else would you have in a stamp room than a clock that has been stamped!! :)

SUOC70- butterflies
I have another one: Stampin' Up Only Challenge, just found and decided to enter- the challenge is Butterflies. Who doesn't love them? Decided to do something different than what I usually do and this is the result. I left the indigo blue folded with a message inside so the butterfly would appear to be flying above the ground. Thought when done I should have maybe used the same pool party color as the background oh well it is as it is. Glad I found this challenge I like that it uses all Stampin' Up supplies since I love their products and enjoy being a demonstrator. thanks for looking!

Stamp Camp May 14
I have a class that I do once a month at a Retirement apartment with a dear stamping friend Margaret. Many of the attendies love to stamp so we get together and I have a stamp camp for them. They make 2 cards and I HAVE to keep it simple. So over the past year and half I have been pulling out old sets from time to time, they wanted flowers this month. Decided to do something different on this first one and do the flowers on the flower pot shaped card. The second card uses another old set that I'm hoping they will be able to do with the three stamps to give the rose layers!!! :) I'm trying to decide if I need to go ahead and rip the paper for them, not sure I want to tackle 10 of them the day of the stamping!!

Poppies for the challenge FMS84
this is the card I made for the challenge. I turned it then stamped the Poppies in Calypso on a piece of the new in color Crisp Cantaloupe. added a piece of Pool party that had been embossed with the Lattice folder onto a naturals white strip. I made the flower out of milk filters that my son uses to strain his goat milk(yes it was washed) I dyed it then punched with the Decorative Label, cut the pieces in half, layered them, held together with a brad then formed the petals. Decided there wasn't room for the sentiment I wanted on the white so I used the new hostess set I got free Banner Greetings stamped in Cantaloupe, layered on Calypso and hung from the flower with Calypso bakers twine. Hope that's not as clear as mud. thanks for stoping to look.
PPA challenge: 158
My first try at a challenge: always look and decided today that it was all good and fine to look but why not challenge myself and try. Thanks for looking
