TSOT #370 Painted Glass

It's just about the end of June!!!   As I write this posting I am actually looking forward to the month of June.  What you say and Why???   My sister who lives in Florida is coming for our nephews wedding! We will be at my house some as I have to do some canning, we are having a cow butchered and I'll be canning hamburger. Strawberries will be coming on also and mine look loaded.  We will be spending time at our Fathers house in Ft. Wayne where we all grew up.   She will be here for Fathers Day and then the next weekend is the wedding.  Hoping to have a sister day with our other remaining sister who lives about an hour from Ft. Wayne. I guess I told you all that to let you know that June is going to be busy for me so I'm working ahead, hoping to get in some stamping time but you never know what all will come up.  Okay you say enough of that get on with the card.

I once again used the Painted Glass stamp set.  I heat embossed the vellum piece with silver then colored the back side with markers.  It is a nice soft look.  I put the vellum on a piece of whisper white card stock then used the three colors for layers that I used in coloring.  (daffodil delight, mango melody and granny apple green)  I colored the butterflies with a variety of blues then used the die to cut them out, I bent the wings up and only glued then under the body.  The bow is made from some retired silver. (I've had it for years - guess I'm still using it up :0)

Scrapbursting - TSOT #369

Ok, I have a confession I love the look of designer series paper (DSP) on cards that I look at on Pinterest, splitcoast stampers, and You Tube.  I have a lot of it but it seems I don't ever use up what I have from one year to the next.  I think I've finally figured out that my passion is stamping and so often I kinda forget about the DSP.  This theme - Scrapbursting - use up scraps of paper -  was a good one for me but let me tell you it was hard.  No not hard to make just hard because I didn't do one bit of stamping on the front of this card it is all DSP.  It was in the 2017-18 Stanpin' Up catalog and is now no longer available, so I need to use it up! :0)   I fussy cut the coffee pot, cups and coffee beans from a piece of DSP .  This card has 6 different patterns used on it from the coffee theme paper.  I changed the focal image from a square to a circle as it was in my whisper white scrap file and decided to "use it up"  :0)
Thanks again for stopping, have you ever left me a comment?  why don't you, I would love to hear what you think of my visions or even if you have any kind suggestions on ways I could improve.  We would love for you to share a  card with us and this one would help you "use up the scraps".    :0)

Optional Theme: Scrap Busting (use up scraps of paper)

Let's get BOLD with TSOT # 368

Okay today I just couldn't decide which one of these cards I liked the best and since they are all made with new Stampin' Up colors I decided to just show you all of them.

The one on the top left is made with Mango Melody.
Top right is Gorgeous Grape
Bottom Granny Apple Green

My bold sentiment is made with the new Stampin' Up set called Big Wishes, I thought it would be perfect for the theme of Bold sentiment. I used some Stampin' Up  Linen Thread, it is neutral and goes well with just about any color. The card front is a die I picked up and not from Stampin' Up.

New Door Wreath

I have been wanting to do this for the past few months and every so often will work towards getting it completed.  TODAY was the day!!!  It is done and on my front door :0)

I took a swimming "noodle" and adhered the two ends together then covered with this ribbon I've had in my stash for a few years.  The wooden plaque was a clearance item from Walmart.  The flowers I made with card stock of varying colors. I was going for Gerber Daisies, Poppies, Peonies, threw on  a few petunias I had on my desk and some little blue flowers because my grandson said - make blue flowers Grandma. It makes me happy even if there might be to many flowers.
What have you done lately to make yourself smile? I doesn't have to be stamping it could be anything that's enjoyable to you.  I wouldn't mind if you let me know in a comment what you thought of my Wreath and what you did for yourself..... just because it made you happy!     :0)

TSOT color challenge #3

Color challenges can be just that a challenge.  :0)     BUT they also give you freedom to use any card sketch your little heart desires. I used a basic card front nothing added except the front panel on  the card base.
I have been wanting to use my color burst again and this challenge allowed me to do that, the three colors were used but because these are free flowing color crystals when the water is added I did end up with some green and orange shades.  I did try to limit that and think I didn't do to bad of a job.  What will you make for this challenge?  There are so many different ways to use these colors that I hope you'll give it a try.  Thanks for stopping and remember to check out all the other fabulous designer cards.

Try Stampin Technique for June - Shaker

I love making cards that have a little bit of fun in them, pop up, flips, shakers just to name a few.  This month we want to see your shaker cards.
I needed some more cards for men so that is what I decided to go with.  This jar of nuts and bolts will be a great one for ONE of the many carpenters in the family.
I used current and retired stamps from Stampin' Up and my Scan-N-Cut to cut all the nuts, bolts, and tools out, that made it oh so easy.  After I did that I remembered that I had an old stampin' up die set that had tools in it- oh well these were smaller and I think look great in the jar.  The ribbon is from my stash - bought years ago. I glued some of the nuts and bolts to the window sheet but most of them are loose and will shake around.  I hope this will bring a smile to someones face.
Be sure to check out all the other designers over at Try Stampin
