Wishing for spring! FabFri 58 challenge

Decided to enter another challenge this one runs for 2 weeks it started on Feb.20th and runs through March 5th.  I am thinking, hoping spring comes soon (but they are calling for more this weekend), I love orange flowers and this DSP caught my eye (Flowerpot collection).  I decided that the wonderful wreath stamp set and framelits needed used again I haven't pulled them out since Christmas time when this set was in the holiday catalog, it is still available. I really like this set it is easy to use and the framelits do all the work of cutting so I don't have to fussy cut when I want to pop it up as I've done here.  The banner dsp is called  Irresistibly Yours and has a resist design on it.  I stamped the leafy border from the Bordering Blooms stamp set then wiped it off,  sponged a lighter color of green over that and wiped again.  I like the way it turned out, it gave just a little more texture to the banner.  The back ground (mossy meadow cd. stock)is embossed with the Spring Flowers embossing folder that is found in the Occasions Catalog. Not sure you can tell in the picture but I sponged the edges of the flowers and shaped them some, the centers are of course pearls.  Thanks for stopping by Vicki's Visions, leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my Vision on this Fab. Friday sketch challenge.

MOJO Monday 386 and Just Add Ink # 251

Decided to check out some challenges today as I'm stuck at home.  Living back a lane I often get snowed in.  The trucks make it out but not my van.  I was watching a tutorial by Jennifer and decided to try to incorporate the idea into the MOJO tall and skinny card challenge and the Just Add Ink challenge was to add Thank You.  I made my Butterflies hang off the left side that isn't really in the challenge sketch so hope it is okay, thought I read something about being able to do that so it will still fit in an envelope.

THANKS FOR STOPPING by and viewing my VISION.

Peek-a-boo card- Creative Card Crew challenge

Creative card crew challenge to add a Happy Birthday card went right along with this card I made. There was a tutorial on Splitcoast stampers on how to make a card like this, well I just love to make interactive cards and couldn't resist.   this is the front of the card
this is the card as you open it, another picture come across and covers up the picture that is visible when the card is closed
Now for the "surprise" picture - the inside of the card fully opened
I had wanted to put the sprinkling can on the opening with the card closed but it had to much dimension to it and the other picture wouldn't slide over in front of it.

I used some new impression obsession products(sprinkling can and flowers) and an old stamp (the little girl) that used to be my mothers, I believe they are called front and backs.  had fun making this if you'd like to make one the tutorial is on splitcoast stampers.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Add texture

I was over on Simon Says stamp and saw that they had a challenge I liked.  Add a Little Texture:
this card has the texture as I popped up the dolphins jumping in the water.  I would love to see this      in real life someday.

This one is for JAKO!!!!!                                                                                                                     My nephew was the top bowler last weekend in a tournament he was in!!!!!  Congratulations to Jako
He lives in Florida so I don't get to see him real often but I did make a trip there the end of January and had a wonderful time with the family: Beth my sister -we stamped together- I have been posting some of our creations.  Her husband Louis - he helped me surprise Beth. my two nephews - Jako and Josiah and then "Grandma Gail"  (Louis' Mother)
I bought this dolphin stamp on a dollar shelf at JoAnns I believe  thought I'd try to do a scene with it.  I like the way it turned out!  It is my vision after all.

sorry for the blurry picture I was deleting pictures off my new phone and it removed the pictures from my blog also    ggrrrr    Already sent some of the cards off to people so added some pictures from the challenge sites.

Stamping in Florida with Beth #5

Stamping, stamping, stamping that's what Beth and I did in the evenings when the boys went to bed!! This evening we made both of these, the top one is made with the butterfly bundle out of the occasions catalog and the bottom one is the mini treat bag thinlits die.  The thinlit die not only make these adorable little bags but also has 8 other dies which include the word enjoy and the banner it is placed on.   Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at all our creations.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge

Okay I know it's not Wednesday it's Thursday but I was busy yesterday and just looked at this new site that I heard about.  I have been wanting to make a card with the Lotus blossom that appears to be in water, this is what I came up with, I hope it is okay to move the sketch around a little and I'm not fond of square cards since they cost more to send so I made mine rectangle.  The beauty of nature  is what I'd name this card.  What do you think of my vision??  Have a wonderful day! thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment, I love to hear from others!!

Another picture that got deleted from my blog when I was deleting from phone:  New Phone;  grrr  already sent this one off to my sister in law who needed encouragement.

Stamping in Florida with Beth #4

Stamping with my sister the week that I was in Florida was enjoyable.  For this card we used the Celebrate Today set from the occasions catalog and the Irresistibly yours DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog that can be gotten free till the end of March. The stamp set is a Photopolymer one - clear to make it easy to layer.  We did not layer anything on this card but the clear stamp was nice to be able to see right where we wanted to stamp.  We sponged color on the DSP paper to match the base of the card.  This was a fun card to make (we saw a similar one on pintrest)   thanks for stopping by and I love to read your comments.  Beths card is on the left and mine is on the right.

MOJO 385 and Sentimental Sundays challenge 246

It's Monday and that means it was time to try my hand at the MOJO monday sketch challenge I also thought it would be fun to try another site that I found called Sentimental Sundays challenge 246. They said to do a Valentine Card so I made this with the love you sentiment to go with that theme.  I wanted to use this colored image and was having a hard time getting the cardstock colors just right but I'm pleased with how it turned out.
                                         Here is the sketch

Here is my Vision  well part of it,  New Phone problems!!  deleted some pictures and they are now gone everywhere, pasted this from the challenge site,  sorry.

Stamp Sets:  Indescribable Gift, Butterfly Basics, Express Yourself
Card Stock:  Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Smokey Slate, DSP; Back to Black
Inks:  Copics   R00 R20  R222   G21  G24   E35  E37   C1  C3
Memento Black, Stampin' Up Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush
Big Shot and Circle Thinlit Die, Butterflies Thinlit Die  sponge dauber, neutral candy dots,     Stampin' dimensionals
  1. this is a 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" card  so cut your strawbrry slush cardstock 9 1/2" first then turn and make the 6 1/2" cut:  score center at  4 3/4"
  2. cut your whisper white at 6 3/8" x 4 5/8"  (I wanted a very narrow border if you like a wider border I suggest cutting a quarter inch smaller than the front)
  3. The diagonal piece came from the scraps on the base of the card,  1 5/8" x  6 1/2"  I stamped the 2 ends of this piece with strawberry slush using the honeycomb stamp from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  positioned is across the card at an angle then cut off the ends that hung over.
  4. The DSP piece is cut  4" x  4 1 /2" centered this over the diagonal piece.
  5. Cut a smokey slate piece 6 1/2" x 2" added this over the dsp hugging the left side.
  6. The copic colored flowers are from the Indescribable Gift stamp set cut it out with the circle thinlit die. Sponged around the edge with black and popped up with dimensionals. (copic colored I don't have my blendabilities yet  :(
  7. Stamp  the butterfly from Butterfly Basics stamp set.with Pistachio Pudding then cut with the smallest butterfly in the butterflies thinlit die ( the stamp set and the thinlit die is offered as a bundle in the Occasions Catalog and saves you $$ like that).  Add the butterfly with stampin' dimensionals placed two layers under the wing to make it stand out more. Lastly I added the candy dots to the center of the butterfly.
  8. added  Love you sentiment with strawberry slush.
  9. Now that is the card : my vision and how I made it.  I will also be adding this to the MOJO and Sentimental Sunday challenge.  Thanks for stopping by and looking at my vision, why don't you give a challenge site a try.

Stamping with Beth in Florida #3

We used a Sell-a-bration set on this card. DSP paper is retired and from Beth's stash. Just pick two patterns that go together and coordinate your ink.  Same layout on this one but with a little different in placement, can you tell?    Beths is on the Left and mine is on the right.

This stamp set is a free one during Sell-a-bration.  With a qualifying order you could pick anything in the SAB catalog for free.  Stamp sets, Designer paper, Blendabilities (alcohol markers), Project Life card set, Accessory Pack (which consists of ribbon and buttons)   Over 10 different items, something for everyone!

Stamping with Beth in Florida #2

.We couldn't resist trying out the Butterfly thinlit die.  We pared it with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set that I had taken along, and the flower from the Occassions caty stamp set: Crazy about you.   I used the butterfly from the Butterfly basics stamp set, there are 11 stamps in the set: one of the butterflies uses the thinlit to cut (the larger butterfly on the card on the right.) and one uses the Bitty Butterfly punch (on the right also), Two other thinlit dies come with the set and Beth used the largest one on her card on the left.
Always remember that Stamping is in the eye of the maker!
Beths card is on the Left and mine is on the right.

Stamping with Carole

Carole, my dear dear friend and I just love creating together.  She was always a great customer and now is my "stamping daughter".  We decided to take a different path on Wed. when we got together to stamp and didn't use any stamps from Stampin' Up!!  Last fall we went to a convention together and bought some Judith Stamps that is what we played with.  This is my card I regret that I didn't get a picture of Caroles, maybe I'll do that and add the picture another time.  Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear what you think of this Vision!!

Stmping with Beth in Florida #1

I haven't posted for  almost 2 weeks: I flew the coup and went to Florida to visit my sister Beth.  I had such a good time visiting with Gail, walking the dogs with Jako, one day Josiah had eggs for me to gather!! and we went to Lighthouse point to see the lighthouse.  It wasn't open for tours but it was still neat  STAMPING was our main activity after the nephews were in bed!!  Beth is my sister but she is also my stamping daughter. :)    I took along some of the sell-a-bration and occassions caty products that I knew she didn't have and we played, played, played.  She in turn had some that I didn't have and we used it as well. I will be sharing what we created do keep your eyes open for any post titled Stamping with Beth!
The week before I left I had a stamp class. I had some precut products left so I took that along and that is the first card we created.  One of the things I like about stamping is that everyone can be creative and "do their own thing".  There is no right or wrong way to stamp or put together a card.  It is all in how you see it and like it.
               Beth                                                                                Vicki

Homemade DSP

Have you ever made your own DSP paper? I have a few times, there’s a YouTube channel called Artful Stamping with Ruth that I enjoy watching...
