TSOT #397 Team up challenge with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog

Sometimes a simple card front and message is enough, don't you think?  I had some backgrounds made with some distress inks laying around and decided to use them for this card.  For some reason when I was making  this card I thought we were to do a monochromatic card (that's actually in a couple weeks so I'll be making another one😉).  I had the sketch and the theme to use an old stamp set also which I've done here.  The sentiment set has about 10 different spiritual sayings and it's one that I need to use more often(I've had for a couple years. I also used one of the oldest sets I have dates back to 1997 from Stampin' Up called Stipple Floral. The right side has a pull for a slide out card to write my message. It is similar to the card from two weeks ago that had a ribbon slider.
Thanks for stopping in and please join us, this is such a great idea - using the older much loved sets from the past, you know the ones we Just Had To Have :0)    check out your stamps!

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog - THEME is to use a stamp set that is more than a year old - give some of your old stamp sets a look see and come up with a great card for this one.  I know I have LOTS of stamps that I just had to have and don't use much anymore.  Give those older set some inkin/love.

Special gifts

Do you enjoy making little gifts for people who are special to you? I do I made a bunch of these up and will be handing them out at our card class coming up on Tuesday. What have you done lately for someone else just because their special to you?
In this day of cell phones and computers don’t forget that people love to get handmade items even if it’s just a card to let them know that you’re thinking of them. I had planned to make these earlier in the year and just didn’t get it done. Sometimes life throws us unexpected changes. That’s happened in my life my sister-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer and we’ve been dealing with that. Since she’s the primary caretaker for my mother-in-law who had a stroke two years ago it has made life rather interesting. One thing that I do to relieve tension is to stamp and to do things for others that I know they will love. So don’t forget in the Busyness of life to do something for someone else and let them know that you care. Life is precious and we need to let others know just how much they mean to us.

TSOT # 396 Flowers anyone?

It's a wonderful thing to think about!!!....Flowers!  Spring is coming even though we sometimes wonder if it will ever arrive winter has been hard here in Ohio. We've had snow and rain in the last couple months - lots of water standing everywhere and we've been pumping water from our basement.
This card is a combination - Stampin' Up and  Art Impressions.  The focal image is from Art Impressions, stamped then water added to look like a water colored image.  I really like this company as everything goes so well together. (and it allows me to feel like an artist)  The card stock and detailed cutout at the bottom of the card are from S.Up.

TSOT #395

This is a fun interactive card.  When you pull the bow/ribbon at the top the inside pulls out.  It is called a ribbon slider card.  I'm not a big ribbon on cards crafter, but I like this idea.  It really makes for a fun card and the ribbon sides really well pulling the inside card out and pushes back in easily. this card has already found it's way to a new home - my sisters :0)  I've had this leaf frame for a bit and don't think I've used on a card yet, I like it a lot.  Thanks for stopping and I hope you'll try our challenge.

            Theme: Use Ribbon or Twine

TSOT challenge 394 photo/sketch or both

oh it is so nice to be back to posting for TSOT.  I somehow missed two weeks in a row - I had it on my blog two weeks ago but somehow didn't get it on Try Stampin's blog.  Then last week was BUSY, helping with grandchildren who have chicken pox and then with my mother-in-law.  Sometimes life happens and we don't find the time to craft.  I did color some images just didn't have time to go to my craft room and stamp.  Well that's enough about me, right?
This week I was keeping the home fires burning, literally. We had some really cold days - below zero and rain, and then ice, and then snow!!!  It did allow me to get some stamping done even though I had to move to a different room to work.  Living in an old 100 year old farm house is great but when it's cold outside we have to close up some of the rooms. My craft room is the first to go!!

I'm wondering if you can tell what I chose to do on this card,  were challenged to use either the sketch, photo or both.  The picture and sketch are pictured down below my card.

I used the sketch, we have a new little one coming in the extended family- a niece is due on Feb. 13th. They don't like finding out if it's a boy or girl so I made this card with multi colors and after the new little one arrives I'll add the appropriate color on the inside.  Thanks for stopping by and happy
crafting.

Birthday boy card

We have a grandson who’s birthday is April 1st.  Since we’re celebrating on Sunday evening I decided I’d better get a card made for him tod...
