Playing with 2016 Stampin' Up new products

I decided to try some partial die cutting after watching a video that jennifer mcguire had made.  I had to change it a bit but the idea is still the same.  I used a new stamp set and die bundle - Floral Phrases stamp set and Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies  selling together with a 10% discount!!  This is such an elegant die and the stamp set is so lovely also.  I used some new metallic thread and the metallic Enamel shapes.  I have pared up the sweet sugarplum (new in color) and the rich razzleberry.  To give it a softer look I've used a very vanilla base.  Now I need to go and use this die the way stampin' up shows with the detailed cutting on the edge.  It has a BEAUTIFUL DSP paper that matches - night of navy and whisper white patterns.

Here is it laying down.

I've got it standing up here and you can see a peek on the inside.
Well that's it for now, but I'll be back!!!   :0)   thanks for stopping if you ever want to leave a comment I sure would appreciate it!!

Try Stampin On Tuesday #276

Hello everyone, it is time for another great challenge here at Try Stampin on Tuesday.  I love how this one could be so versatile, able to lend itself to so many different occasions.  I pulled out a new stamp set for me and the new 2016-2017 Stampin' Up Catalog.  I always need birthday cards and decided to make one that would work for men.  I send a lot of them out as there are so many men in this family.  Polka Dot Balloons!!!  love them and the many saying in this set, and how it goes with the new banner framelits!!
                                                            Theme: Polka Dots

I used the Birthday Banners Stamp Set,
Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, Soft Sky inks
Blooms and Bliss DSP,  neutral candy dots, Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies
(I made the clouds in the back ground with a paper towel and sponge)

Click this challenge number and it will take you to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Web page   # 276    That would be where you would add your great take on this card sketch challenge, I do hope you'll play along with us!  THANKS for stopping by,  Vicki

Happy Father's Day!!!

My Father has a BIG fish tank that he enjoys. That was the thought when I made this card.  I started with doing the Bokeh technique on the background with 3 blues, the rest just fell into place.  Sometimes a card comes together nicely, I like this one and I think he will also.  I'm wondering if  it would have worked to put some hair jell in the bag in front of the card to make it appear more like water?  Hmmm maybe I'll have to try that sometime.

Ahoy Mates

Here is a card that I used the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies on (this goes with the Swirly Bird stamp set). I didn't have the stamp set when I made this so I had to make my own sailboat. ( I now have the stamp set, yea!!)   My sister's husband loves to sail so I thought this was a good one to send to them, they signed up for some larger sail boat classes and they both passed with captain status.  It is a slider card so if you tip the card the sail boat glides across the water :0)

Card Making with Carole #3

Have you ever looked at a stamp set and thought, oh I'm not sure about this one?  THEN you begin to see all the different ways it is used and you now just have to get it?  We'll that's what happened when I saw this Swirly Bird stamp set bundle.  I really liked the big shot dies that come in this bundle but just wasn't sure on the stamp set.  I've changed my mind!!  It is a great set for making a variety of cards for all occasions. A GREAT one for ALL the people in your life, male and female!!!

Card Making with Carole #2

Another new stamp set, here we stamped a card that was a little more detailed. Stamping, coloring, masking, cutting for layering (pillows).  I love this set, it reminds me of our porch swing and I'll probably be using it a lot for many cards.

Card #2 for Margaret's group

Today I head over to Margaret's to stamp with her and the folks at Cyprus, they come to make 2 cards.  Mostly I keep them pretty easy but like to throw in a new technique every so often.  This card has an Ombre background that I made with packing styrofoam.  Don't forget to try different kinds of materials on your cards for the background, you'll be surprised at what you'll get.  I used a cut up basketball one time for a textured look.

Try Stampin' #274

Hello everyone, I believe summer has finally arrived!  We just put our first bailing of hay in the barn.  Fields are in and the garden is coming along.  (after replanting since it got COLD earlier)  Ah well some years planting early works and it just didn't this year.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday has another great sketch and theme.  I just had to!!!! I want you to know.  The theme color is  yellow and I just love that color of flower but I just had to play with some of the new Stampin' Up In Colors so here is the closest color to yellow, Peekaboo Peach. It is one of 5 new In Colors from Stampin' Up and will be with us for the next two years.  I'll admit that it is a beautiful color so for this theme just think of it as a deep yellow, tee hee :0)

I used all new Stampin' Up products on this card (oh no my daughter-in-law gave me the washi tape I believe it is from a couple years ago)   Did you know that the new catalog went live on June first?         Oh me oh my if you haven't seen the new one yet there is much to see, a variety with something to appeal to a lot of different kinds of stampers, my wish list is long!  If you check back in the next few days I'll have some other of the new in colors used on cards with this stamp set and embossing folder. It is one that I as a demonstrator could purchase early and play with. fun fun, if you don't have a demonstrator and would be interested in any products you could contact me here.  Have a wonderful day and I do hope find time this summer to play with us.

Stamp Set:  Love and Affection
Embossing folder - Floral Affection - it has 2 small folders

Here is our sketch for the next two weeks and as I said above our theme suggestion was; Yellow

Flower Pot card - Margarets group

I love having flowers hanging on my porch and if you come to see me you'll often find me sitting on the porch swing enjoying them and looking to catch the breeze, (no air conditioning).  I've made this card for a stamp camp and a challenge.  Seems many of the challenges lately have been geared to the flower theme.

This card is one of two that my group at the seniors apartment complex will be making, maybe a little bit of a challenge but I think they will love it.  I used the Flower Patch stamps with the dies to match.  All the colors are the new In Color collection for 2016-2017 I am really enjoying making projects with these colors and love how bright and cheery they are.

C4C 339 -- What does it stand for?  A Challenge site called Crazy For Challenges and it is number 339. Now I haven't posted with them 339 times :0)    The theme is Flowers- if you haven't come from their blog you can find them here.  Lots of other beautiful flower cards as samples or just the place to add your card and play along.

CFC 149 -- Entering CAS-ual Fridays  also there theme is also Flowers!  imagine that!!! you'll find theme here. Remember to check out all the samples on this blog also.

I made a pot of flowers - one is never enough!!  :0)

Thanks for stopping by, what do you think of my Vision?  I love and read every comment, I know sometimes it is easier and quicker NOT to comment but as a person who is on a design team It really doesn't take very long to leave a quick note and it means so much.  Have a great day

Homemade DSP

Have you ever made your own DSP paper? I have a few times, there’s a YouTube channel called Artful Stamping with Ruth that I enjoy watching...
