Yellow Blossoms

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of February. It seems like time just flies by anymore.  Here in Ohio had some warmer days this past week, I’m sure they won’t last but it was nice.  Warmer days and spring coming, that means it’s getting closer to gardening and flower time. I live in an old farm house that has a covered porch.  Each year I like to hang flowerpots.  They don’t get very much Sun though so I have to be careful what kind of flowers I plant in the pots.  I often use everblooming begonias they come in a nice assortment of colors.  Okay enough of my chit chat here’s my card.

I went with yellow as the main color because I like yellow flowers, added a bit of pink and blue to the background by coloring alcohol markers on the back of Vellum then spreading the color some with alcohol. I did add a couple frilly springs of  Vellum behind the flowers, I know you can’t see them well in the picture but they show up just the way I wanted them to-subtlety is but adds a nice look.  Thanks for stopping in to see my Vision.

TSOT 595 our theme-Stripes

It’s good to be back, I missed getting a card up last week thought I might try to make it up but I’ve been busy getting ready for a card class. This is the set we’re going to be using. It’s in Stampin Up‘s spring mini catalog, it’s the sweet citrus bundle. Do you have Stampin friends who share,  I have a friend who is so sweet. She let me borrow this set so I could use it for our class. I don’t know, after using it for a couple days I may have to get it! That happens often you don’t really think you want it but then after using it…….😊 This set has some sweet goodies, not only does it have the stamp set with 11 stamps. Two of the stamps used together make the rind of the citrus and the inside. Then!!!! You can fit that piece into the embossing folder to give it dimension. The stamped images line up perfectly with some of the fruit in the folder!! That’s not all😳 there is a die to cut out the 4 pieces fruit all at once.   The die will also fit inside the embossing folder, it sorta snaps into the embossing folder to cut and emboss at the same time.

I used 2 colors when I stamped the oranges.  Inked with the lighter color - calypso coral then used a sponge to add pumpkin pie.

The leaves were done the same way with parakeet party as the base then adding pear pizzazz at the base of the leaves.

I embossed a white panel and adhered it to a mango melody card base added a strip of the free dandy designs DSP from the SAB catalog.

Positioned my oranges and  leaves in a pleasing way then added a heat embossed vellum sentiment.

Thanks for popping over, I’m not so sure my card follows the sketch real well but I do have the stripes, just in a different way.  How will you interpret this card sketch and theme? We’d love to see😁.  Have a great day!

Family Valentine’s

I was a busy crafter today, decided to use some of my art impressions valentine animals that I water colored earlier this week.  I paired them up with The Bam box mechanism (Karen Burniston).  These are fun but they do take a while to get everything put together after you figure out what you want to use.   The third picture shows the 4 cards closed. Three of them have magnetic closures and the 4th has a belly band. When opened the critters pop up as you can see.
