Doubling up again!!

I'm back with another entry that I combined 2 challenges for:  Pals Paper Arts 190 color challenge and CCMC 289 sketch.  When I looked at the color challenge I thought everyone would be doing something for females or a valentine theme and decided that since we have so many men in this family that I would further challenge myself to create a Manly card that wasn't a valentine theme.  I have this retired stampin' up set - All Aboard that I immediately thought of with the gray the Blushing Bride and the Rose Red were the big challenge. Decided to sponge them in for a sunset background to the train.  The diagonal piece worked well for the train track stamped in gray with gray sponging to soften the white.  I tried one train on a piece of blushing and didn't like it so I decided to put it on white and pop it up as a central point. I used a plain gray piece and the Banner Blast set from the Sale-a-bration and the matching punch for the banners on the main panel.   Thanks for taking a look, what do you think of my Manly vision on these 2 challenges?

  2. That was a challenge to make a manly card with those colors but you achieved it quite well! This is also one of my favorite retired sets and glad I kept it! Your sponging was just the right technique! Cool! Thanks for joining us at Create with Connie and Mary this week!
